Which one?

Post by Ratcatcher »

If you were at a restaurant and you'd just ordered a filet mignon or a nice rich casserole and the only 2 decent wines on the wine list were a 2001 Penfolds Bin 28 and a 2001 Galah Wine Shiraz both priced at $35 which would you order?

Order a stout and tell them to work on the wine list!

If that's the best they can do I wouldn't have eaten there. The Galah, has more chance of being interesting rather than industrial.

I'd probably order the Bin 28 but only because I hadn't tried the Galah. On the other hand, I might take the opportunity to try something new too.

Those prices sound quite reasonable for a Sydney wine list but I can appreciate things are a bit cheaper in other cities. We paid $40 for a $15 white blend the other day.
Cheers,
Kris
