Tyrrells 2004 Private Bins

Post by action2096 »

Hi Guys,

Just got a mailer from Tyrrells about the 2004 private bins and i was wondering if anyone had gotten a chance to sample any of them.

I purchased a few of the 03's and some 04 VAT 1 which i'm looking forward to in about 5-6yrs  but i'm hearing rumours that 04 was not so good for the reds

Cheers

Don't touch the Vat 1's until 2014 if at all possible. 2004 was an excellent vintage and the '04 Vat 1 is tightly wound bearing high acidity and will need the extra time I'm suggesting to bear fruit. By all means monitor one in the time you're suggesting, but do try keep a couple for longer-term enjoyment when the wine has reached its' zenith.

FWIW, I will not be buying the 2004 reds, but have a case of the 2004 Vat 1.
