SWR: New auswine web store

Post by Gavin Trott »

New Web Site

Well, the new auswine web site is all but complete, indeed, its got its L plates on.

It is fully working, fully stocked and ready to go.

However, it just needs a good testing, some tyre kicking, trying out etc before final launch. I would love some help with this testing and am asking any forum members who may be interested and have time available to help.

Of course, I'm not asking empty handed. Any one who is willing to visit, play around, test things, order wines will receive a few extra treats. In part, some of the wines featured in this current mailout will only be available from the new web site, they will not even be put into the old auswine site. So if you'd like the Torzi Matthews offer, some Gate Shiraz or some 2002 Bin 707, you would order these from the new web site.

Additionally, all those testing will receive from me a promotion code. By using this code in the web site you will receive a 10% off anything you order. The only limitation is that this will not apply to wines in the 'auswine cellar' section, other than that, there are no limits whatever. It applies to wines on sale already, new releases, everything. It is just my way of saying thanks for your help.

BTW the new site will also have auspoint rewards, so if you register on the new site while visiting, and you decide to actually buy some wines, in addition to great prices, and 10% off, you'll also be earning auswine reward points!

Remember, this is testing only, hence you can freely order any wines you choose. Orders, during the testing period, will be ignored and deleted. Go ahead, order a 1963 Grange, or a couple of cases of your favourite, no harm done! Remember, all is fully secure and ready to go!

If however you find some wines that you do actually want, simply email me and I'll complete and process the order for you, after all, they're great wines at great prices.

If you are interested, please pm me or email me.
regards

Just one note of possible caution. I asked Gavin for some information on this, but his reply hasn't arrived yet. :-)

If you are entering Credit Card details into the wallet or into a test order without creating a wallet entry, be aware that these pages may not yet be secure. Looking for the normal security things (https, etc) I couldn't see that security was implemented, so don't use your real credit card numbers until Gavin can assure you it's safe.

I'd just love to order 1999 Domaine de la Romanee Conti Mixed Case 750ml Our price: 27,500.00 AUD

Fair point

I'm still investigating this, I certainly asked for this to be done, but it may not be secure.

So please, use no real cc details.

Gavin

Was there supposed to be link in your recent Auswine email to the new site? I didn't see one.

Mike,

It looks like that was a case of "oops" (glad to know I am not the only one who does it in emails. ) I just had a look at the email in question and none of the underlined wines or the links to the new site actually have the links in the code.

I think Gavin wants people to contact him for the URL and discount code to use for testing rather than have open slather? Send him a PM or email for details.

If you are really desperate to have a look and Gavin is taking a break for the weekend (unlikely), pm or email me and I'll pass on the details.
Cheers

That's what I think now as well, but its not really clear from the AusWine email, and even the note above is not that clear on what you have to do to get access to the new site. Something tells me someone has been working into the wee hours getting this thing up and running - better go ask for the code and see what its all about.
