Rewards of Patience - 2003

Post by GraemeG »

Southcorp finished the lastest lot of tastings for a new edition a couple of weeks ago. By my rough reckoning this makes tastings in 86, 94, 00, 03. They seem to be more frequent! Anyone know which writers were at the lastest get-together?

cheers,
Graeme

I gather from Huon Hookes article in the SMH Good Living section, that he was most certainly there, but no hints as to who else.

Ah - I've missed the 2 most recent Good Livings so I didn't know he mentioned it. I presume Halliday and Caillard were there, along with the Penfolds staff - Gago, Taylor. Wonder if they considered inviting Parker? Or if he would go? Don't think he likes to do large group tastings with others. And I think he had a large vertical of Grange a few years ago.

Did they swallow their pride and get John Duval along?

Oh well, just have to wait & see, I guess,

cheers,
Graeme

Graeme,

From the Adelaide Advertiser on 11 Sep,

"The tasting by five of the world's most respected critics – Britain's Joanna Simon, the US's Joseph Ward, Singaporean Ch,ng Poh and Australians James Halliday and Huon Hooke – is held once every five years as a progressive assessment of the longevity of the company's world famous wines."
Ciao,

You know it makes sense!
