Turkey Flat Shiraz 1999 - Anybody tried this one recently ?

Post by action2096 »

Guys,

Missed out on the 2002 which is already sold out :( but i've just seen some 99 come up at Auction. Has anyone tried any of this particular vintage ? I've heard that its not as good as the 02 but the general concensus seems to be that its still a pretty damned good wine.

Cheers
Chris

I'll skipped the 1999 and wait for the 2001 or 2002 in the next auction

The 99 Turkey Flat is an excellent wine. Much better than the 2001 IMO.

I saw the 99 about 18 months ago- agree with GW, very good stuff. I remember thinking it was more seriously structured for long term cellaring compared with (say) the 98. No baby fat at all. Another 5 years??

I had the 96 at lunch today, it is just entering its drinking window and was absolutely superb. No notes, too busy enjoying myself.
