1998 Chris Ringland Shiraz

Post by Paul »

After spending the past several weeks in US on vacation I've returned home to SA to find (with great surprise) a mailer from the Grateful Palate offering the 1998 Chris Ringland Shiraz (formally three rivers).
What is most interesting is the wine is being offered to Australian residents at AUD$660 per bottle, and to US non-CA residents at US$300 (or at current exchange rates AUD$440).
So it appears Australians are having to pay substantially more then US residents for this Australian wine!!!
Did anyone else receive this mailer???

Quite probably, no WET and GST on exports!

Are we lucky we have these taxes on our profitable wine industry!
