Yattarna 1998? Price when released?

G'day all,
I'm a less then active wine drinker but I know what I like.

I purchased 2 bottles of Yattarna 1998 which was then placed in the linen press & found today. My mum wanted to throw it out. I can't remember what I paid for them, so can anyone help me with a price. I know that I bought them at the end of 2001.

Probably around $100/bottle.

Hi Guest - if you bought them at full retail on release, price was likely closer to $120. One of the brands that has actually fallen significantly in price over the years - Vintage Cellars had a 20% off sale (on already discounted wines) recently, picked up some 1998 Yattarna for < $60.
Last Langtons price was $67.
However, I wouldn't agonise over this - if your bottles have not been heat-affected, the 98 Yattarna is a truly superb example of Oz chardonnay, quite ready to drink now, even with a few more years in it if cellared properly. Possibly the classiest chardonnay I've ever tried (haven't opened my Giacondas yet)

Wow I just had a look at Vintage Direct (Nicks Wine Merchant site) and they have it for sale at $120. Pity the poor sucker who buys it there.
