As requested by an anonymous guest, a quick poll on rough cellar sizes.
How big is yours?

I have somewhere between 150 and 180, mainly Oz, mainly cabs and blends, then riesling, shiraz, semillion, sparklings, and a wide assortment of oddments from all over the place.

Lucky you, you have real cellers...

I live in Florida,
the entire state is built on the swamp,
there no basements in Florida per Building Code!

This is how we store wine in Florida:

Serge, it doesn't have to be underground, my "cellar" is at ground-level, but needs air-conditioning to keep temperatures within acceptable ranges. It actually opens off the dining room, which can get a little dangerous when you run out of wine on the table and a guest shows initiative in picking another wine from the adjacent cellar.
Cheers
Brian
Life's too short to drink white wine and red wine is better for you too! :-)

Yeah, my friend here has one like that too,
spent $8000 US on it but iut has a side effect:
it makes noise right in the middle of the house and....when power is out-
so go all our cellers.

oh well....nothing and nobody lasts forever...

Greatest free enterprise system ever and the power keeps going out? or is that the hurricanes? Would have to be out quite a long time to cause any damage if the insulation is OK.
