Does anyone have any thoughts on the 01. Is it as down on previous vintages as ive read?

Any one heard much on the 02 yet? When is this wine released and what should we expect.

A mate and I I thought the 01 Malleea very good when we were at CD a few weeks back. I haven't noticed any negative publicity about it but assume you have?

Majella are doing great things, their straight Cabernet has won trophies for the best Cabernet at major shows for each of the 00, 01 & 02 vintages. Don't think anyone else comes close to that kind of record.

As for 02 Malleea, I think they held back the 01 just so the Mallea would always be a year behind the Cab and the Shiraz at release time. Expect the 02 Malleea to therefore be released in June with the 03 Cabernet & 03 Shiraz.

Mainly reffering to an opposition site that labeled it as smoky and confusing. I have a couple of bottles and wanted some more thoughts...Cheers

Also Jeremy Oliver gave the 01 Shiraz and the Cab 95 points each but the 01 Malleea 91.

Interesting, I'd better concentrate a bit more when I try it next and actually make some notes. At CD I was with some very new casual wine drinkers so didn't really put the brain in gear.

I'll get a couple of the boys together for a look soon.
