TN: Hoddles Creek Chardonnay 2015

I've been buying this wine for some years now, and hosted a vertical tasting a couple of years ago.https://forum.auswine.club/viewtopic.php?p=1 ... ek#p166638. At that vertical (2019-13 inclusive) the 2015 was wine of the night:

Hoddles Creek Chardonnay 2015: Yellow colour. A more savoury nose than previous wines, with cedary oak, stone fruits (especially yellow peach), lemon, dried oregano and lemon thyme. The palate shows more grippy oak and lemon pith, and this is clearly a more developed wine. Moderate length, and the question of reduction arose again.

Looking at this a couple of years later, the colour has barely shifted. On the nose, some of the stone fruit has diminished, and citrus emerged (lemon pith). The oak is also still present. The palate has softened somewhat and possibly less intense. Oak has integrated, and the fruit shows a mix of peach and citrus. There's a faint sign of creaminess (from lees), but mostly this is clean and sound chardonnay, probably just past its peak. Not bad for 9 years, though!
