G'day

Deep crimson colour and fairly opaque. Heady and voluminous nose with developed blueberries and dark plums, graphite, vanillan oak, cinnamon / spice and savoury notes (leather). Perhaps just a touch of VA, which lifts the nose a little more.

The palate is full and rich, with plum pudding / Christmas cake, and is a little port-like, with fruit sweetness, a little alcohol heat, and a silky texture. Tannins are integrated and acid is sufficiently high to give the impression of freshness. There's also some chocolate and more spice. Full bodied and a long finish. A big wine, but the combination of characters is enticing, and a second glass is guaranteed.

Cheers
Allan
Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.
