Good article, it reinforces what I have come to learn over the years, it's producer, producer, producer. Ironically, just last year I bought a couple of bottles of California Cabernet from the 2011 vintage, the very same year Asimov talks about in the article. I acted on the presumption that a cool year would work in my favour, producing a wine less extracted and plush and more to my liking. Plus I wouldn't have to wait as long.
