I purchased a couple of bottles of this many years ago and promptly left them / forgot about them. 2011 was an excellent vintage in WA, and since finding these again, I've been looking forward to an aged Millard. I've had a couple of more recent vintages.
By the way, Millard is the name of the grower that these grapes came from, just up the road from Faber's home vineyard in the Swan Valley
Deep purple in colour, glossy but dark. Intriguing nose of leather, black plums, ripe raspberries (almost like the confectionery, not the raw fruit), mocha and spices (possibly cumin and clove).
The palate is really singing! Plummy primary fruit is well matched with freshening acid, and fully integrated tannins. The whole impression is of a medium weighted wine with intensity of flavour, and a long lingering finish without being overly heavy or viscous. Perfectly balanced, and for that reason, I would suggest it may not improve (although may plateau for a while).
Maybe I should have the last bottle in 6-12 months.
Cheers
Allan

Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.

Have to say I've not heard of the winery but the wine sounds good, but surely you need to wait a minimum of a year to make it a 10 year-old.
