Shoutout to Sassafras wines

Post by Wizz »

and to Paul Starr the winemaker who posts here.

In among the flurry of offers coming out of late was this one, and consistent good reviews on Winefront had also piqued my interest. So I ordered a mixed sixpack to see what the fuss was about.

The delivery turned up, but it was the wrong order.

How does one return wines in the current, socially distanced, contactless delivery world? Before I has thought that through I got an email from Paul saying keep the wine at no charge, and the correct order was also on its way.

Thats incredibly generous in an era when small business are bleeding. Please support Paul if you can.

By the way the wine was the Chardonnay Savagnin Methode Ancestrale. Its a fabulous drink too - in the realm of real spumante, jura, bruised apples, apple cider.

I buy Sassafras Ancestral every year. Fantastic summer drinking! My favourite producer of this style in Australia.

I also really enjoyed the 2018 Ginin-ginin-derry Ancestral Rosé.

Post script: I didn't keep the wine at no charge, but Paul still wouldnt accept full price.
