Damn. Such a step back in time to go there, and I guess that was probably part of the problem.
A google search did show a headline from the border mail indicating that Jim Sawyer was intending to sell, dated October 2018. It's behind a paywall so I can't read the rest, but I guess that means he didn't find a buyer for it as a going concern.
It does say on their website that the last day the cellar door will be trading will be for Tastes of Rutherglen on 12th and 13th of March
