Much to my surprise I came across a Chilean pedro ximinex, made from old vines in a single vineyard and in a dry style. Who could resist? It brought to mind that the Stephen John winery used to make a dry px but that they stopped making it the year before I arrived at cellar door, much to my dismay as I had been looking forward to trying it.

Anyway, to see what it was like I bought:

2 x 2017 Mayu Pedro Ximinez, Huanta Vineyard, Elqui Valley, Chile (13%).

Mahmoud.

The Brut I assume? Picked up a few of these myself … tasted at Tyson's yearly shin-dig and was probably in the top 3 champagne's of the night.

Yep... bought a case of mags earlier in the year as well. The 96 is in a good spot now as was the 90 a couple of years ago (as you know)

I’ve ordered a lot on the net over the years - 1997 was the first time - and this is the closest I have come to having a problem. Lots of the polystyrene inside had shattered, the out side box had a few tears, but thankfully the wine was all fine.

Pierre Menard is making a name for himself in France. Not as burgundian as Boudignon, these show a lot of finesse.

Geez. Looks like the work of baggage handlers at my old airline. Always best to assume a drop 10 feet onto the tarmac.
