I have a New World nebbiolo from Lethbridge 2014
The cap and sleeve both move and it is difficult to get the screwcap off
Is this a failure?
I will email Lethbridge and ask but what do you think :i
I have never tried the wine before
It brown broad & rustic
But maybe that is what it should be

Re: Screwcap advice
This indicates a failure during the bottling process. The cap and sleeve are originally one part which is put over the neck of the bottle. Force is then delivered to the top of the cap which compresses the disc inside the cap against the glass lip, which is the part that creates the seal. The sides of the cap then get crimped.
Sounds like your bottle wasn't crimped properly. That doesn't necessarily mean the seal inside the cap was broken. The disc inside may still have had a good seal.
I'm not familiar with Lethbridge Nebbiolo, so not sure how it's supposed to taste. Only ever had their Pinot Meunier.

Re: Screwcap advice
Brown and rustic from a 2014 nebbiolo does not sound right. The only time it happened to me, with the cap and sleeve moving together, was with a Stock 'Lionel' red vermouth from Italy. In this case brown, rustic, and herbal was quite okay.
