TN: Gilberts Riesling 2018

Post by Waiters Friend »

This small vineyard 20km north of Mount Barker in WA's Great Southern region has been producing consistently good Riesling for over a decade. Th is the current vintage …..

Pale straw, clear and bright. The expected lime and lemon characters are supplemented by some floral characters (lemon or orange blossom) and maybe a hint of ginger. The palate is clean - not sharply acidic, but the acid is present underneath the wash of lime and lemon fruit. It manages to do this without being overly tart, which some young Rieslings can be.

Experience tells me these age well for 7+ years without effort.

Cheers

Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.
