The blend varies from year to year for the JM Reserve - on this occasion, it's Cabernet Sauvignon 89% and the remainder Petit Verdot, all from the Perth Hills. PV has been featuring (positively) in various blends over the past few years. 18 months in new French and American oak.
Deep purple black in colour. Ripe blueberries and blackberries on the nose, with violets, vanilla and mocha all prominent, along with cedary oak and coffee grounds.
The palate is full, with a little menthol, chocolate, and lots of plush fruit over the tongue. Acid supports well, and there's plenty of grippy, chewy tannins. The 14.8% alcohol is barely noticeable, and the wine finishes satisfyingly long.
This is built for the longer haul, and I may be drinking it about 5 years too early.
Cheers
Allan

Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.
