Hi guys,
Busy at work at the moment, so been lurking for a while.
Just wondering - are any of you buying anything from the Rhone 2017 vintage En Primeur? One of the merchants I use in the UK is running their campaign at the moment, and some of the prices seem pretty keen (others much less so) - Northern Rhone seems cheap, Chateauneuf expensive.
Any thoughts / tips on producers this vintage?

I'd buy Chave if I could get it. A few legacy CNP's but other than that, I don't see much urgency as the wines don't seem to appreciate at silly rates. Could be wrong as I'm long out of the market.

Well there are a few producers where they've been "hot" lately as in they're getting harder to get and jumping in price..
Gonon
Allemand
Guillaume Gilles (Still very affordable)
I think these two are solid as well..Balthazar seems a bit less consistent..Faurie is pretty structured so needs a bit of time..

Prices do seem to be ticking up a bit. It was a lesser vintage (not sure how much that affects the prices in the Rhone), but I picked up 3 magnums of Vieux Telegraphe 2013 for 182GBP en primeur. The 2017 is 275/6 from the same merchant!JamieBahrain wrote:I'd buy Chave if I could get it.
