TN: MyattsField Cabernet Sauvignon Petit Verdot Merlot 2013

Post by Waiters Friend »

54% CS, 28% PV and 18% Merlot, from the Perth hills.

Deep purple in colour. Bright and fresh nose with blackcurrant, dark berries, violets, vanilla, and some dried herbs. The palate has soft but supporting acid, modest tannic grip, and fresh fruits across the tongue. There's a little coffee, but at this stage in its development its mostly about the fruit. The wine finishes reasonably long.

Plently of time left in this one. Not yet at its peak.

Cheers
Allan

I should hope so, what with Cabernet and petit Verdot being the primary varietals in the blend. After all, it's only just 6 years old.

I'm thinking in comparison to the 2011 tasted a few times over the past months. http://forum.m.auswine.com.au/forum3/viewto ... 61#p150349. The 2011 is pretty much at its peak now, while the 2013 seems more than 2 years off. Time may prove me wrong!
