TN: Castelli Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2008

Post by Waiters Friend »

Castelli Estate is in the Great Southern region of WA, bear the town of Denmark. I'm looking forward to visiting for the first time in September. I have been buying their wines on and off for a few years.

Deep purple / crimson in colour. Rich nose of blackcurrant, tobacco or cigars, a little black olive, and cedary oak. The aromas are jumping out the glass.

The palate shows more of the dark berry flavours, with grippy tannins, and a velvety texture. It's medium to full bodied, and is looking pretty good for a 10 year old wine. It's probably at it's best, but should hold for another couple of years at least.

Cheers
Allan
Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.
