Hey Gang,
First of all, the new site looks IMPRESSIVE!
Second, leaving for the big GBR fishing trip in a few days, which will include a stopover in Sydney with a day to raid---did I say raid, I meant browse the Australian Wine Centre shop in Circular Quay.
Can anyone link me to a wine mag/professional winewriter's recent writeup on new release tasting notes?? I've been so obsessed with '00 BOrdeaux of late, I've let my reading of Oz wines slip tremendously.
Pinot noir, blends, shiraz also appreciated.
Thanks,
Scotty Dog

Ardeis,
Not professional but a huge number of Oz tasting notes can be found here
http://www.torbwine.com/index.htm?..//recent.htm
As well as this lot, have a look at the Lastest Feature Story section as it has tasting notes on over 200 recently release Sout Aust reds[/url]

Ardeis,
There's no doubt that the AWC at Circular Quay is the most expensive wine store in Australia. You may be better off either at <b>Ultimo Wine Centre</b> (15 minutes walk from Town Hall Station), who also carry a very large range of imported wines, or the Fine Wine room at <b>Kemeny's</b> on Bondi Road (about 20 min walk up from Bondi Beach). For fun browsing the shelves, those two are hard to beat...
cheers,
Graeme

Oh Graeme,
I know I pay top dollar for wines at the AWC but my layover in SYD is merely half a day, and I can walk from my place at York Apts over to AWC and haul nearly case back byself--no cab fare, gas etc.....not to mention a still pretty favorable exchange rate for our greenbacks!
Appreciate the referrals!
