G'day
I buy at least 4 bottles of this every year, and I tend to forget about them for 3 years or so. This is still crimson in colour, which is similar to what it was on release.
Lovely dark cherries and lots of spices (cloves, cinnamon, perhaps a touch of aniseed or five spice) on the nose. The faintest hint of mushroom, and lightly charred oak. The palate reflects the nose to a large extent - tannins are fine-grained and there's modest grip, acid is cleansing without being sharp (and runs in a line down the centre of the tongue). The fruit is there but not dominating (this my be a function of age), and the wine finishes quite satisfyingly long.
All in all, a good pinot noir from a noted WA producer. Time to look at some older ones that I have forgotten about …
Cheers
Allan

Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.
