TN: Clonakilla Riesling 2016

Post by Waiters Friend »

Pale yellow in colour. Fruit purity is apparent on the nose, with clean and soft lemon lime. There's also some florals and a little talc.

The palate is delicious, with the lemon and lime sliding easily over the tongue. Acid is present, but in a supporting role, and not sharp or zingy as some Australian Rieslings show. There's almost a softness to the wine, which is not a bad thing for current consumption.

Cheers
Allan
Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.

Hi Allan

Had the 2013 of this the other week and it was gorgeous. I have some of these, but was planning to wait to open the first of my 4.

Cheers

I haven’t had them with too much age but always impressed with what I’ve tasted young.
Very different to SA Riesling with a lot less petro kero , and more like great southern Riesling, which has me head scratching to be honest given the vastly different terroir
