Australia Day Wines

Post by JamieBahrain »

I thought a Wendouree Shiraz Malbec 1998 with Filipino lechon kawali would make me homesick. The Wendouree takes me right back to Clare reminding me of many great getaways.

Hope you are all enjoying your public holiday.

I had a Jaraman (i.e. Taylors) Clare Shiraz on a flight back from JNB the other night and it had the same effect, something about that unique clare valley profile... Bloody nice wine actually, even at altitude.

2010 Brands Laira '171' Cabernet ... disappointing compared to the 2010 Bellwether Cabernet consumed on Boxing Day. I think the new owners Casella will get better things out of Brands.
