New Aussie Cult Wine-Hadi Bin 909 Reserve Shiraz?

Post by JamieBahrain »

Anyone heard of these guys? Retailing for $600 AUD a bottle in reputable supermarkets in Beijing.

Looks like a con? Hadi's as in Hardy's ?

Wouldn't surprise me if it is a made for China market wine...

If by Con you mean trying to look like another wine...I don't think it is..if by con you mean it is some BS wine with a super high price tag to try to get some suckers to buy it..yes...

Likely a copycat wine/wine business.

No proper winery would miss an error like "1840's".

Far more reasonably priced is the cab shiraz at $200 Aussie.

Now there is a Chinese mark up but this pricing is something else- a deliberately marketed ultra-permium Aussie wine. On the shelf nearby was 389 at $100 AUD which isn't ridiculous.

If Bin 709 is good, Bin 909 must be better.

Maybe it came from that? Bin 709 to be like Pennies Bin 707 then assume the punter will see the 909 and think it is better esp. in conjunction with the higher price tag - for the Gift Buying Corporate type who has no idea on wines but can read a price tag.

Or maybe getting nice kickback on each bottle sold. Agree that's it's likely a copycat producer.

hahhaha, yes, you don't know Hadi????????
Seriously??????
One of Australia's most FAMOUS wineries!!!
The Bin 909 is fantastic, but the Bin 909 Reserve is INCREDIBLE!!!!!!! I gave it 105.3 points.

If that is the store I think it is, (on Silk Road?) you can buy Petrus 1995 for $350 AUD. Bargain!!!

I guess a copy cat wine is better than an outright fake?

From the link:
Treasury Wine Estates began etching the glass on bottles of its most expensive wines this year, in an effort to deter fraud, which has become an increasing focus of its business as Chinese sales drive profits.
This year? My 2006 St Henri is etched.

In what looks to be an exchange of consumer idiots, the mainlanders are wooing duty free buyers at Brisbane aiport.

How much was the Cullen 'Diana Madelaine' just to the left of the 'Ao Yun' Cab/Cab Franc? Surely a better deal.

I went back to the supermarket in Beijing and the 709 Hadi is all gone. Just a few bottles left of the Bin 909.

Great export market. Even if they leave our imports roasting on the docks because their Orweillan practices can't be questioned.
