TN: 2016 Somos Barbera Rosé

Post by Ozzie W »

Drank an interesting Rosé tonight made from Barbera grapes grown in McLaren Vale, made by a Mexican winemaker.

2016 Somos Barbera Rosé
12.9% ABV

Bitter herbs at the entry and finish with sweet n' spicy orange in the middle. Some vanilla oak too (fermented/aged in old oak barrels) , but not in the slightest bit intrusive. Great balance between acidity and sweetness. A tad of chalky tannins as well. So easy to drink and an utter pleasure on a hot Melbourne evening. That orange thing going on is just so refreshing.
