It's pretty simple if you have your images hosted on a web server (e.g. Flickr or Imageshack). Right click on the image you want to post, select "copy image address". Start a thread or reply in Auswine forum. Paste your image address (an URL) in the message body, select/highlight the URL and click the "Img" icon on the formatting toolbar. When you post the message the picture will appear in the text body (scaled down to ~250 pixels wide). An example below:

Hope that helps.

You have to create a free account to upload images, from there it is easy, Imageshack provides the links formatted for forum software like this one, with the img tags already included. You can also choose the display size and whether clicking on the image shows it in a larger size.
Cheers Brian Life's too short to drink white wine and red wine is better for you too! :-)
Brian what is the difference between the options at ImageShack? eg:

Glen, phBB forums liike this one use extra [img] tags that are not part of html, these won't work on other web sites. So there is different code for full-size images, hotlinks and thumbnail images for both forums and standard web sites. The differece in the two alternatives of appears to be only uppercase tags vs lowercase tags to cater for server settings.
Its been a while since this topic was raised but do those people who post photos always have to upload the photo first to a public site like flicker before embedding the image in their posts. It seems there is no way to embed a photo directly from one's computer.
I use the free image hosting service imgur.com - it will handle resizing for you and auto generate the code to embed your image in a forum post (and elsewhere on the web).
