TN: Plantagenet Riesling 2006

Post by Waiters Friend »

From the coolest vintage in the Great Southern in recent memory.

Only just yellow in colour, which is amazing for an 11 y.o. wine. Initial whiff of kero, which blew off quite quickly.

The nose is lime / lemon, with only slight cordial intensity - there's still a degree of freshness to the fruit. The palate has racy acid, and the lemon / lime floats over the palate. The length is considerable, and it's a wine that refreshes while totally engaging the palate.

At it's best now, if you like aged Rieslings.

Cheers

Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.
