MyattsField produces a Reserve red most years. However, the composition has changed considerably over the years, with the first two (this wine and the 2005) being Merlot dominant. There was a move towards mostly cabernet dominant wines from 2006, and the gradual introduction of Petit Verdot at the expense of Merlot.
This one is 77% Merlot and the balance CS, and it had 12 months in new French oak. Still full purple in colour. The nose has a whiff of VA initially, then settles down a little with red and blue fruits, mocha, some spiciness from the oak, leather and furniture polish. The palate reflects the developed fruits and savoury characters, and finishes medium with some chocolate and fine integrated tannins.
This is probably just over the hill, but enjoyable nonetheless.
Cheers
Allan

Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.
