Vasarelli Vineyards Chardonnay 2002

Post by Neville Nessuno »

This wine comes from quality McLaren Vale grape growers who have traditionally supplied some of Australia premier wineries, who themselves decided to produce their own label one year and never looked back since.

A beautiful ripe yet classy Chardonnay with loads of ripe tropical fruit - melon, peach dominating. The top quality fruit abounds, integrating exceptionally with the French oak. Green olive and cashew tinges on the aroma, slight honey on the palate but refined and not in a cloying sense.

Lean and tight acid structure with a good length and finish.

Aging very well - will hold for another 2-3years - good with pork.

One of the better Chardonnays Ive tasted recently.

Are you sure this isn't a Cellarmasters label?

Agree on the Cellarmasters bit.

The vassarellis have been a part of the Cellarmasters roadshow for some time now. But I don't think all their wine goes there.
