TN: 1996 Fox Creek Reseve Cabernet Sauvignon

Post by n4sir »

1996 Fox Creek Reseve Cabernet Sauvignon, McLaren Vale (cork): 14.2% alc. Medium to very dark crimson/purple. Still strong and relatively youthful for something 20 years old, opening with a wallop of nail polish and cedar oak, blueberries, black cherry, kirsch, milk chocolate, roasted meats, dried oregano and black olives. The palate is medium to full-weight with an entry that is quite chunky in texture, followed by a slight mid-palate hole and finishing chalky, grippy and slightly minty. This bottle was in remarkably good condition, ones like this are great drinking for those tolerant of something so oak dominant.
