TN: 2015 Wolf Blass Red Label Shiraz Cabernet

Post by n4sir »

2015 Wolf Blass Red Label Shiraz Cabernet, South Eastern Australia (screwcap): 14% alc. Dark to almost inky purple. Sweet plum, black cherry, balck pepper and vanillin oak on the nose, while the palate is just over medium-weight with more obvious cedar/vanillin oak influences, touches of earth, dried herbs and black liquorice on the finish. Bright and fresh, a very good quaffer right now but I think it may hold a few years too.

Ian, do you have a connection with TWE?

No - or maybe I should say I don't think so?

I am (at least for now) a member of the Penfolds Kalimna Club, and know a couple of the Winemakers and Cellar Door staff at Penfolds. That's it.

This bottle and the 2015 Rosemount came as part of a mixed half-dozen from rewards points cashed in from one of the major Grocers.

Cheers,
Ian

Thanks. Just curious as you post about TWE-related issues not infrequently (not frequently, though.)

I'm not a fan, myself. Each to their own.

Picked up a case of this for less than a tenner per bottle, great VFM, simple but does the job.

The TWE observation is an interesting one, still have not got customer relations right at the bottom end of town.
They are not alone, but its the multi-nationals who seem to be the most out of touch.
They put me in a real dilemma the other day, a barrel of Magill something?? for 200 grand or do I put another Merc in the garage

Cheers
Craig
Tomorrow will be a good day
