Myattsfield Shiraz Mourvedre Viognier 2008

Post by Waiters Friend »

G'day

I've posted notes on several Myattsfield (Perth Hills) wines, and I have several vintages of a few of their wines. This is the oldest bottle I have of this blend.

Decanted for 15 minutes before service. Deep garnet in colour. The nose has a little clove and five spice, along with dusty notes (oak), a little vanilla and hints of red and blue fruits. The palate is more defined, with a hint of apricot, red fruits, mocha, and a strong line of acid through the middle of a slightly chocolately texture. Medium finish and body.

Not a rich, full wine, and probably all the better for not being overly heavy. I don't think it will get much better with time, but won't deteriorate in a hurry either. A good wine.

Cheers
Allan
Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.
