Picardy Chardonnay 2014

Post by Waiters Friend »

G'day

One of my favourite WA chardonnays, and a totally different style to the average Margaret River chardonnay. This producer also continues to bottle under cork, in the belief that the wine ages better under this medium.

This wine is the current release, and is pale yellow in colour. The nose is quite different to the palate, and shows cashew, yellow peach, and baked quince. The palate shows lemon, cleansing acid, and a very long citrus finish.

From personal experience, this wine will fill out in the next couple of years, and be a more rounded chardonnay. At the moment, this is in a sweet spot, and worth looking at young as well as older.

Cheers
Allan
