Sean, thank you for the notes. Like you I drifted away from Penfold's, price being one factor. My interest always favoured the Shiraz/Cabernet wines, the Koonunga Hill and Bin 389. I missed out on the '98s but did get a few of the 96s. Since then nothing except the '04 Bin 389 you tasted here, a purchase spurred by a deep discount at a local store. Not surprisingly it needs plenty of time.
