2001 Wirra Wirra Church Block magnum, McLaren Vale (cork): 14% alc. 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Shiraz, 20% Merlot from McLaren Vale, matured in French oak barriques for 18 months. Medium to darkish garnet/brick. Fully developed with bright, medium-weight cassis fruit with touches of menthol/ashtray and earth with a decent, minty finish - hanging on nicely.

Thanks for the note and pictures Ian. I have a couple of bottles the '01 Church Block but they're not in magnums, so probably more advanced than your magnum. Time to dig one out and try.

Cheers.................Mahmoud.

The sad thing is that you're probably right Michael! I feel that wines from the 90s are still too young.

Mahmoud.
