My daughter, bless her heart, gave me this so opened for fathers day. An absolutely beautiful wine. Deeeeeeeeep purple and aromas to die for. The taste is pure velvet and will stay that way for several years yet. Went magnificently with the finely seared piece of rare beef. Excellent
The Petaluma paired well with cold lobster salad, prawns and Sydney rock oysters. The acid blended well with the lemony zest. Improved greatly as it warmed up. Drink now or in the years to come. Also excellent.

Thanks MM,
All three from this range and vintage are due for the taste check. Shame they couldn't keep up the excellent standards after 98. When I last tried the range from 99 vintage a couple of years ago they were iron hard and unforgiving. Didn't buy any because I couldn't see them getting it together but wonder how they would stand up now. Not well I suspect.
cheers,
