I also have 3 put away. From what I've read it is built better than the 2004 and should last a bit longer. I've read comparisons to the 2001 (Which I have a solitary bottle of, but not tried).

I tried this wine at a local DM's last Saturday. I am not certain whether the wine was heat affected in its storage, but it was disappointing especially for the price. I am a fan of Riojas, however not this one. All three other people with me (including DM staff) agreed. Best to try before you buy any more.
Technically a couple of the purchases were in the last few days of august. 6 x 2013 Marius Sympatico 6 x 2013 Marius Symphony 5 x 2015 Grosset Polish Hill Riesling 1 x 2013 Grosset Pinot Noir 2 x 2013 Clonakilla SV (magnums) 1 x 2011 Maurice OShea 4 x 2012 Graillot Syrah

I bought a bottle to try based on a recommendation. The initial glass after a pop and pour was disappointing (I was forewarned). But after 2 hours of decanting it turned into a glorious wine. Today I bought the last 3 bottles from my local Uncle Dan's.

Yes. These are wines that need a decant for a few hours. They are glorious after 2 hours.

Lots of Marius on the purchases. I'm guessing their mailer just came out. Fingers crossed I get on the mailing list for next year Heard nothing but good things from people that have tried these wines.

Last time I ordered a mix of the reserve shiraz and the flame tree and the flame tree was just fantastic. Good value as well.
Do you mean the Marked Tree Red Shiraz? If so, I totally agree with you. It's great VFM. Which vintage of the Reserve did you previously get?
Cheers, Travis.
Yes that's what I meant - not sure why I wrote it as I did. Maybe too much red wine. The reserve I had was 2011.
I have a lot of wine that will take a while to mature, I just liked that the marked tree can be drunk now or held for 5 years.
You speak the truth wise one. Talking with Alex McKay who makes the wines, he reckons the 2011 Reserve is definitely one for the long haul. The MTR doesn't last long in our house. That said, it can handle a decent decant or spread out from the bottle over a few nights. More-ish stuff indeed.
