This weekend
Hi
We've not done this here for a while, but I'd love to see some of the (many) lurkers step out and come forward.
What are you hoping/planning to drink this weekend? Let us know.
If possible then, post some actual tasting notes either as separate notes on Monday, or as part of Ric's What have you been drinking segment.
Come on in!
Me, well various samples as seems to be the case permanently, probably Leeuwin 2001 Art Series Shiraz, perhaps one of the Binder Mitchell wines.
From the cellar, hope to crack a 1996 Annies Lane Coppertrail Shiraz.
Also some Guinness because geez its cold in Adelaide!

Well, she who must be obeyed is off tomorrow (Friday here) to some sort of Beatles thing for the whole weekend so I have the house, dogs, cats and cellar to tend to. Plus work. But there will be '02 shiraz in there somewhere. Probably get to try the Turkey Flat (375ml) and Branson Coach House again.
Sometime in the next few weeks I'll be able to post on the following '02 shiraz
Kurtz Boundary Row
Mitolo Jester
O'Leary Walker
St Hallett Faith
Tait
Twelve Staves
Forefathers
Jim Barry Lodge Hill
Journeys End Beginnings
Kangarilla Road
and few others. Plus another box arrrived yesterday with something special inside. At least that's what you guys have led me to believe so in few weeks time we will see what all the fuss is all about. Won't we?

Hi all,
Have big plans. New dining table and chairs. A beautiful eight seater in chocolate hardwood, with plush chairs ala Est...................Three other couples and..............
Oysters with some trout roe matched to Bollinger Grande Anne 1996.
Spaghetti vongole with some Cullen Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2002.
Thick juicy scotch fillets with a red wine jus and garlic mash washed down with a couple of bottles of Grant Burge Meshach 1994.
Then my partner's specialty of succulent lamb shank stew with a magnum of Moss Wood Cabernet Sauvignon 1995.
A cheese plate from DJs to mop up any remaining wines (and maybe a Jim Barry Armargh 1996 if we are not slurring yet)..........
Then Bread and Butter pudding from Restaurant Balzac with a Stanton and Kileen Vintage Port 1991.
Wish us luck...
Cheers,
Monghead.

This Weekend
Cold there Gavin, warm here but a Guiness goes down great regardless.
I did not see to many c-throughs but I've had my eye on a 1991 Long Vineyards Napa Valley Chardonnay that is eyeing me back. I think this weekend is it.
Best
Paul

Well I'm sipping the '02 Turkey Flat Shiraz as I write this and unfortunately the second 375 ml bottle is even more closed than the first. I plan on checking it out over 48 hours as the other bottle did evolve and I'll edit this post with any news. I'm now really keen to see what Mike Hawkins finds with the 750ml.
