Here is the latest official Orica GreenEDGE video:
Orica GreenEDGE Rocks - youtube
Cameo appearances by Eddie Merckx, Philippe Gilbert, The Devil and the OGE bus driver.
I love them measuring the height of the bus.

Re: Le Tour
Well so far the Aussie Orica Greenedge team has stolen the limelight on 3 out of the 4 stages so it seems more appropriate to be drinking beer! On stage one the OGE bus being stuck on the finish line was a marketing coup that will be talked about for years - long after everybody remembers who actual...

Re: Tasmanian Winery Recommendations
Josef Chromy is one of my favourite cellar doors anywhere. Even the men's bathroom has a spectacular view (which is a bit off-putting if you don't know that the picture window is one-way glass). It's also handy to know that the wineries in the Tamar Valley have an arrangement where any winery will p...

For extra longevity and also a sense of occassion when you open the wine I would suggest buying some Magnums. I have had some fantastic magnums that were'nt too expensive for my kids 18th and 21st birthdays.

For everyday drinking I use Riedel 'O' series - the stemless ones. They go in the dishwasher with no problems. I have been using them for more than 5 years with only a few clumsy breakages. I also have some of the Spiegelau stemless ones that are very similar.

You can still buy Para from 1892! The 1913 was released this year - $990 a half bottle.

Tahbilk - easily on all of the criteria listed.
Chrismont - great selection of Italian varietals that are always great value.
Chambers - Their flagons of fortified, particularly muscat, are the wine bargains of the planet.

The Roussane is great with 5 years or so on it.
The Marsanne is a 10+ year wine. I had a 2000 vintage of their 1927 Vines Marsanne at a restaurant on the weekend and it was fantastic, though still as pale as a 3 year old wine.

I couldn’t take any notes as I was opening and pouring wines at this winery lunch for 40 people. This lunch is an annual event and the Irvine is always one of the favourites. I have also had a few bottles out of my cellar which have been great too. I met Jim Irvine at a dinner last year and t...

Abercorn and Huntington are neighbors. When Bob Roberts, the man who started Huntington, decided to retire a few years ago Tim Stevens, the owner of Abercorn, purchased Huntington and continues to make Huntington wines in the same style they have always been made.

Launceston/Tamar Valley: ...... - Book lunch at Josef Chromy after tasting at the cellar door. Re: How to Get a Label off a Lakes Folly Bottle?
Most labels can be removed by putting the bottle in the oven at about 100c for 15 minutes or so. This softens the glue and you can peel the label off with a knife and stick it (the glue comes with it) on something else. Remember to remove the capsule first. I have one wall in my cellar covered in se...

Re: Glass door on wine room...?
Look at a glass called Comfort Plus. We have it in every window in our house and it cuts down heat transfer, noise and 99% of UV and it was only a bit more expensive than normal glass. It is a laminated glass and you can get it in a variety of colours or clear (I think).

Re: Red / White from 2008 & 2009 for 20years keeping
As far as whites go I think Riesling or Hunter Semillon (as several people have already suggested) is most likely to go the distance. There are many Clare Valley rieslings that may last or Steingarten usually ages well. Likewise there are several Hunter Semillons. I had a '91 Lindemans Hunter Semill...

Sounds like a top night and the photos are great.
I could have filled the gap in your Steingarten flight. I managed to obtain some of the mythical 2004 'cleanskins' years ago and still have a case and a bit left.

1988 Wynns John Riddoch - I've probably had this a dozen times since release and this was the best so far. Exactly what I hope for in aged Coonawarra cabernet. Cedar, tobacco and also had notes of chocolate, coffee, fennel and aniseed. Great length, and lovely velvety mouthfeel. Good bottles still ...

Yes, with cheese after the meal. You could have a variety of cheeses on standby and choose a few appropriate ones after trying the wine.

I'm sure there must be plenty of other stories associated with the trophy as many of the Jimmy Watson winners were not fancied wines. Even a Yellowtail wine has won the award. This is my favorite Jimmy Watson story - http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2002/08/09/1028158016228.html
