If you want to venture a little further, there is Blackridge Estate just outside Alexandra. The wines are interesting as well as the owner.

I'm going to bring a Petite Syrah, from California, since many Petite Syrah's are produced in the US and are difficult to find in NZ.

A favourite of mine is from Alois Laegeder in the Alto Aldige region of Italy. It is a rose from Lagrein (an indigenous vareital). Dry, but with Lots of fruit and medium to full bodied. A great summer wine for steaks (or almost anything else).

TN: Ring Bolt Cabernet Sauvignon 2005

Hi All, I picked this up at my local wine shop. This one is from Margaret River in Western Australia. Does anyone know about them? Lots of Jammy Blackberry, black cherry, blackcurrent notes. Soft tannins but give this wine some weight and structure. Nice even body and finish even for a 14% abv wine....
