0% Wine Tax In Hong Kong

Hi,

The day I leave town, wine becomes more affordable.

I hope this time the reductions are passed on to the consumer.

Cheers,

Craig, Having been a member with both companies, I would say that in terms of storage facilities Wine-Ark is superb. I live overseas and had a managed cellar account with Wine-Ark. I have not visited Cellarit's facility. If you intend to sell a few bottles and to continue to purchase from overseas, ...

Thanks Ric,

That's interesting. Do you know of any other rare wines that have gone this way ie vines not being productive enough, so production stopped?

I've seen tasting notes for the 1996 Malcolm. Just wondered how this compared to the 1999.

Thanks,
Andrew

Magpie Estate The Malcolm 1999

Hi,

It seems like a tasting note on The Malcolm 1999 is as hard to find as the wine. Can anyone help out.

Cheers,

Andrew

Hi Ian

Thanks for the advice. I've seen Hachette book and its good value. I'll search again for an online version.

Winediva equivalent for French wine producers & wines

Hi,

I've been looking for an online site that list big and small French wineries and the wine that they produce, something like Winediva.com.au, but with the wines linked to producers.

Has anyone come across such a site? Easy to search would be a bonus.

Thanks,
Festival

Thanks for the note. I wasn't the least bit interested in purchasing the wine. Just thought that I should share one example of the 1998 pricing hike in experienced in Hong Kong. I'll look forward to my Election 01's. I haven't been posting any tasting notes, as 99% of my wine is in Aus and I am in H...

Hi Torb,

The Veritas Hanisch is still on 'sale' with one leading Hong Kong wine retailer for $650, reduce to clear from $950.

Would you say that this wine has reached a plateau where improvement is unlikely or is it pasted its best.

Cheers,
Andrew

I'm sure that Jaime can elaborate more, so here's my take on things in Hong Kong. There are a few reasons why retail mid tier/premium wines sells are stagnant in HK. - 80pc wine duty - Private wine clubs which get their own import license and ship large quantities to cut costs by bypassing the retai...
