Re: Problems with Liebherr / Miele fridge

Its been tapered with following release fom the factory probably damaged in transit and repaired by Harveys, it would never pass from Liebherr in that state their quality control is tops. Contact them at Europe HQ bypass Andi how would they know they dont open shipments bound for Harveys.

Tainted wine from storage in new fridge cabinet Post by Alwin » Thu Feb 03, 2011 3:01 am I've gone through the sequence of storing wine in boxes at home for a few years, then in a commercial wine storage unit for a further 3 years and finally in my own fridge for 2 months. The first bottle of sem...

Re: Unusual Chardonnay info request

Great posts by you guys, interesting reading.. Personally I go for Paringa pinots, a real knock out every year, compared to their chardys which are ok but there are far better bottles in S.A. (Clare Valley & Barossa) and Tassie. I like Giaconda when I can afford it, Mount Adam is reliable, it de...

Re: Wine fridges...again

Onya Davero ok so Liebherr cost more but German brands (Miele etc)are 100% reliable, kinda like Kraut cars Porsche, Merc, BMW no gimmicks, good solid performing products accurate and built to last. minus the hassles of cheaper brands with mega issues that put your wine at risk and end up costing hea...

Re: my vintech just crapped its daks

Vintec & Transtherm are total crap & over priced for sick performance, bull artists to boot re service, there is none. They advertise like crazy cos they are desperate & paying full time article writers to promo the brand. Doin' deals with wine growers, bottle shops, like for every fridg...

Smelly Wine Fridge??

I heard Vintec is in trouble, despite the fact they offer incentives to electrical, vintner and cellar door retail outlets and restaurants by giving them fridges at wholesale so they can then be used in Vintec advertisements as happy owners/promoters. Another deal is that for every fridge sold by on...

[quote="Red Red Wine"]Like the other times I picked up a Dome 24 bttls wine fridge for $50 at target. And today I was just browsing the local book store when I saw "1001 wines you must try before you die" by Houn Hooke for just $12. Now all I need is to find a Vintec unit for und...

Most pro chefs boil the alcohol off prior to adding wine to dishes, but they have a glass themselves while they are waiting, so use something reasonable...tee hee. Seriously, if the wine is sus, boil it for 10 minutes to negate the alcohol before adding to the dish, but I think balsamic tastes bette...

Mould on corks

Incredible that mouldy corks do not effect the wine, for me they always smell off and the wine is badly compromised. Ask Torb for his suggestions he is a legend.

Wine fridges - advice required

Whether you like it or not Liebherr are the best wine fridges because they are precision made, relaible and have excellent after sales backup, they will not bankrupt you with whopping electricity bills either. But not everyone can afford them, so try and find a second hand one. Eurocave and Kitchene...

Wine in the freezer

The owner of Ultimo Cellars once told me that a whole container load of a very expensive white wine froze on its way to Australia and he was biting his nails when he thawed a bottle from the batch and pulled the cork. He said the wine was fine and he had never been so relieved in all his life.

Wine Fridge

Why can't registered users Vote on this vintec issue? Is the forum pro this company? Vintec have huge humidity problems, go for Kitchener or Eurocave if you value your wine. Both these companies would more than likely meet the Vintec price with comparable storage capacity. Vintec are unreliable abou...
