Re: Anyone tried the latest Rockford release?

I've tried the 2017 Rifle Road Cab Sauv.... I found it quite cuddle and rounded, with a touch of greenness on the second night. At $54 pb it does seem to be pushing the VFM envelope

Which museum cellar?

If you could visit (and taste from) the museum cellar of one Australian producer and one International producer, which would you select?

I'd probably go for Yalumba and Dujac, but there are no doubt some obvious choices I'm missing....

Re: ...risks associated with a cool room without temp/humidity moderation

Do you think I could reasonably store my wine here, without experiencing too much accelerated deterioration in wine quality? Has anyone used mobile temperature moderation equipment or some other way to improve cellar conditions without spending a fortune? I'm in Brisbane too, and have seen first-ha...

Was only joking. How about then, you take some of my allocation of a very famous Barolo producer? As I get it mates-rates I take on the excess as an investment but in the end, will probably never sell them and having so much of it a little dreary. I'll PM at some stage. A Burgundy lovers Barolo in ...

What do you own greater than 14.9% :?: Nothing that's good that I can think of. I wish I had had the opportunity to try the Lindemans 1965 Hunter Shirazes, Bin 3100 and 3110, coz I believe they are supposed to be 15%+. Perhaps that is a load of hooey. Anyway, if it's too strong/out of balance, it g...

A line up of a fair bit of wine tasted at a recent dinner. Wines were not served blind 2015 Dalwhinnie Moonambel Cabernet This was the surprise disappointment of the tasting. TN: SC Pannell Tanino 2016

An imposing name, as I am not a fan of big-tannin beasties. From a vineyard in Amery Road. A blend of Malbec, Shiraz, Touriga and Tinto Cao. Dusty black cherries and mulberries, black olives and a square of nougat; quite a daunting nose. The palate is more twiggy, a scoop of earthiness with light re...
