Re: Barossa tasting - where to go!

Just came from a fantastic 10 day trip to Coonawarra/McLaren/AdelaideHills/Barossa. My recomendations go to: Burge Family, Gibson, Greenock Creek, Rockford, Two Hands, Turkey Flat, St Hallet, Torbreck. They all have very good to outstanding wines and the staff is very very friendly. If you want to b...

That is the opinion of some american consumers after getting bored of years consuming Yellow Tail and other aussie plonk sold there in the under $8 bottles with cute animals on the labels. A lot of those consumers are now moving to the "selected market" of French and Spanish plonk of under...

Here is a graph with very accurate temperatures took from one of this Prima 72. (Temperature and Humidity recorded every few seconds during 24 hours in may Melbourne). m You will see a small temperature variation around 16C and the fridge display was showing 13C all the time. It works quite well if ...

I think most of you are overstating Parker influence on Aussie market in US. From what I see in the Liquor Stores and Supermarkets in US, I tend to believe that less of 10% of our exports (in volume) to US have a Parker review and maybe 2% would have a score of 90+. IMO, aussie brands did a fantasti...

Always thought Brown Brothers was really cheap crappy wine. Is this still true? I would think the same as you until I visited their cellar door in Milawa and tasted some very good stuff like 2004 Patricia Shiraz, 2005 Tempranillo, 2004 Petit Verdot and 2005 Shiraz Sparkling (last two wines cellar d...

I don't really know if the wines are given to them. They can simply buy the wines. Anyone has an affirmative answer for this question ?
