Re: 2024 Rockford Mailer
I was there for a Stonewall lunch two days ago, tasted the current releases after the lunch and thought they were all* a bit more tannic than I expected, including the RR that seems to be liked / rated by many. I put it down to it being rushed and I’d had my fill of wine with a little more age, but ...

Aramex again...why cant people just use Auspost. They wont knock on my door and they will just leave the wine outside. Not so bad at this time of year, but the same happens in the summer months. Aramex doesn’t deliver to my location so they pass it onto another courier who also don’t deliver to me…...

Re: NWR: Peated Australian Whisky
Hellyers Road is in Tassie just near where I live and has been getting good awards. I think you can get some of their range in DM. They have had Peated whiskey in their range but not sure if they are the ones sold in the big chains

Hi Michael, of your list I've only tried Cirillo, Dodgy Bros, Vanguardist and Yangarra - I have also tried Eperosa and Rockford. Apart from the Vanguardist I tried all at the CD before purchasing. I have liked most Grenache I've tried even though they are different styles. Are you (or anyone else h...

Biodynamic, moon phase, flower day are new age religious terms abused to justify ridiculous prices for wine.

Hi Saturn I started getting into Grenache in a big way probably six or seven years ago. Along with some of the other peeps on this forum we got together and tried four 2014 Grenaches made in different ways (berries, whole bunch, pressings and a blend) by Rob Mack at Aphelion and it was a fascinatin...

CellarTracker provided this information pretty easily- I haven’t bought Penfolds reds for 3-4 years (or Cullen DM) but they still sit pretty high on the list. Re: Anyone use a wine preserver unit?
A Steady... yep. Just bought a 2nd one. Longest I’ve left a bottle is 3 years and it was good not great. I think the sweet spot is up to 6 months but there’s nothing stopping you from going longer. The screw cap is a good idea, but the wine is exposed to oxygen for a few seconds. I use it for rizza...

Re: Favourite Mailing Lists / Annual Releases
I have a tasting booked with Sam and Callum next month, I'm really looking forward to it.
To me they both share similar attributes to Frasers wines, and as they get more vintages under their belts they will continue to improve.

Re: Margaret River Cabernet 2014 horizontal tasting 22 July 2023
Yet another underwhelming Cullen DM. It's so sad, as it's a label and winery I used to have great affinity for. I went long on Cullen DM from ‘10 til ‘18, all sight unseen based on reputation, a great lesson for me. Seems there is “importance” in drinking them only at a specific moon phase……. A les...
