Lakes Folly 2014 Chardy. Just a wonderful wine to enjoy my parole for good behaviour from the lockdown crazy leaders.

Re: Wendouree 2021 Mailer
I recently changed jobs after 13yrs at the same place. I got all my mail sent to work and email to my work email address. Forgot my Wendouree letter went there too. Had to call up and get a copy of the form sent out. Not ideal. Take my advice. Dont be a fool, keep your personal life seperate from yo...

From what I can glean. 3 levels which are 1) black initials, 2) red crayon and 3) nothing. Black inititals get what they want, red crayon gets small scalebacks 3) lucky if they get much.
I wrote a letter 10 years ago and have been a red crayon for 8 of those years.

Re: Varietal slang and contractions
I think I would annoy you guys. I pronounce Pinot Noir often with a hard T on Pinot and Noir pronounced Noyer.
I also tend to pronounce Champagne with a hard G.
Why? I dunno, it just ammuses me. I dont ever wanna take life too seriously.

Id like to try them. I am a on again off again Penfolds guy. Mostly off due to prices.
But look, this looks interesting and I want to see what they have done here.

Im pretty confident things will go back to normal after a while. COVID will become one of the collection of flus, diseases, we humans just deal with. Vaccines, herd immunity, treatments etc will help, but it is with us forever. I want to get back to travelling the world and enjoying everything it ha...

Brodie. Great comment re depression and motivation. In all walks of life if its your family, friends, colleagues, wine forumites, we all need to look after each other. We are social animals. We need to get togethor and share laughter, trials tribultions. I am mostly a lurker. But awesome chat Brodie.

Im no expert but isnt a lot of the stock held by the winery? Id imagine they leak a little out through Langtons but defend price levels.

Re: Does every iteration on the Langtons site just get worse?
This is my theory as a Langtons user. Often I will be the bidder and not meet the reserve or put a wine on the watchlist. Post auction I will get 24 hours tp accept an offer on a eine at Reserve. So for your Mt Edelstone example I imagine the reserve was $145 and were all from the same vendor.

Re: Cellar doors closing due to COVID-19
Seriously they should all be closed for next 2 weeks. This is a critical time for us to do social distancing. We need to stop feeding the virus warm bodies.
I know this is a big impact to businesses, no denying it. But we just need to stop what we are doing for 2 weeks.

Re: What on earth is Qantas thinking?
The problem is likely the non Penfolds crap. That needs to be drunk soon or it has an experiation date. Think 19 Crimes. Penfolds they can hold and see if this blows over. Who knows maybe they just return to the old Penfolds release schedule of a few years ago before it was brought forward to boost ...

Re: Verticals - Comparative Tastings or Compulsive Behaviour?
Its compulsive behavior for me. I have that many verticals across the lines of my producers. But I have not yet and not once done a vertical. Ridiculous, I need to change this. Might need to form a group of people who like wine. I host one, then rotate. Most of my friends are not passionate on this....

Re: Aussie cellar door wine sales booming
My favourite model is the tiered tasting fee approach. Call it a $5 for the estate range and maybe $20 on reserve or top shelf, refundable on purchase. Many Aussie cellar doors are free, and I feel like a douchebag if I drink for free and dont buy. So I always buy a bottle. Im not a fan of this goin...

I am finding myself in SF again tomorrow and Napa the day after. Will update. But schedule is Chimney Rock, Oshaughnessy, lunch then maybe Stags Leap Wine Cellars and Alpha Omega. Never been to the first 2. Just sorta picked them from a dartboard. Supposed to be 34 deg. Woo tannic cab!
