Re: ...risks associated with a cool room without temp/humidity moderation
Thank you all for the considered responses, will look into some air conditioning, might be worth a little investment to get this right instead of rolling the dice on the vino.

Good point - no it wasn't in a bottle of wine/water... ambientA_Steady wrote:Was your temperature sensor in a wine bottle of water? While the maximum is high, I’m curious about the daily variable of 5 deg C

...risks associated with a cool room without temp/humidity moderation
Hi ya'll Looking for some storage advice. Have about 200 bottles sitting in an offsite cellar (nothing incredibly expensive, probably median price point is ~A$35), with perfect temperature/humidity control. My good friend has a new house and it has a wine cellar room. It is on the bottom level, and ...

Re: HOG vs GRANGE
I find it interesting that in a thread entitled HOG vs. Grange everyone is suggesting something else!
If it is based on current vintages, I compared both side by side at a tasting last year and HOG being preferred of the two.

Re: SW Western Australia first time visit
Make sure you go to Peel Estate wine in the Peel region - it's a good stop on the way back from MR or on the way to MR - nice place with something a bit different than your MR mega wineries
If you do go further south, West Cape Howe is nice.... also Wills Domain is a top spot for some food

Wine + Coke
G'day all From memory, everyone was chortling a few months ago when it was mentioned that some of our friends in China were slurping back a heady concoction of primo Grange and the black fizzy stuff from Coca Cola Amatil..... I was part of the contingent from memory and it was to my surprise then th...

Re: Perth, out and about, enjoying
Have lived in perth for four years, and a good night for me would be:
A beer or two to start at the roof top bar Bob's Bar (on top of Print Hall)
Short walk to Balthazar, good ambience & wine list
Finish with a drink or two at Helvetica

Re: Winelist price shock - a good one!
Not sure if this is on the money (don't usually buy older wine), but picked up a 1998 bottle of 389 at a local bottle shop for $89....
Not sure if they'd tried to sell it a few years prior at that price, then didn't change the label?

I'd love to know too
Probably best way to do it is to ask the celebs themselves - hit them up directly on Twitter, including Adam himself

To upload pics, i reckon get an account on a service like Flickr or Google Picasa or somewhere like that, then use the BBCode options available on the right hand side of the screen when you post.
Sounds like a great spot

Central Otago day trip - notes & photos
Central Otago notes: had a three day respite from a west-coast/south island bike tour of New Zealand and took the opportunity to partake in their vinerous offerings. Being new to wine and in particular to Pinot, I was hoping that my previous aversion to this lighter style red would be removed should...

Re: POLL: How much wine do you really drink?
I voted 4 - 5 bottles. Much of this is consumed in the one to two hours per day where I am cooking (it's a hobby), generally I cook with a glass of wine going at all times... not entirely sure why - probably to do with a certain TV chef a few decades ago which as a child imparted that the two be pai...
